Tomy is a Japanese toy company that sold the Thomas Wooden Railway from 2011-2012. The company has had previous experience with the Thomas and Friends franchise, producing the Motor Road and Rail, TrackMaster, and various preschool toys, including Capsule Plarail wind ups and the Thomas Big Loader. Tomy also produce baby and nursery products other, interactive games, and licensed products including Nintendo and Disney franchises. In 2011, the company acquired RC2, and its sub-brand Learning Curve. In 2012, the Wooden Railway packaging was rebranded with the Tomy logo. Since 2013, the Wooden Railway line was manufactured by Mattel for Fisher-Price after Mattel's purchase of HiT Entertainment from Apax Partners in 2011.
