Rocky is a friendly breakdown crane who is part of the Search and Rescue Team.

Product Description

Character Card

Rocky is a very strong crane, but also a gentle giant. He can do all the jobs that Harvey can’t, like lift derailed engines back onto the tracks. Rocky has no engine and relies on other engines to pull him to where he is needed.

2019

Rocky is very kind and always ready to help in an emergency. You can be sure that if there's an accident, he'll be there to assist his friends any way he can.

Changes

  • 2007 (string attached to flat magnet, sixteen wheels, rotatable)
  • 2013 (metal rod attached to round magnet, curved edges, plastic bogeys, updated details on flatbeds)

Trivia

  • The prototype 2007 Rocky features a longer magnet string, thinner eyebrows, gray flatbed nails, and a slightly bigger magnet.
  • Despite Rocky's character card stating he has no engine, it says he relies on other engines, implying he is an engine which he isn’t.
  • 2007-2017 Rocky is the fourth item to not have a black chassis. The first three being Terence, Sodor Railway Repair, and Fergus, Byron being the fifth, Peter Sam's Dynamite Delivery being the sixth, and Stephen's Castle Coaches being the seventh.
  • Rocky is one of the few characters who did not receive a cgi face from Learning Curve and Tomy.
  • The cancelled 2018 Rocky features printed details on exposed wood, fourteen wheels, and his magnet attached directly to his crane arm.
    • Additionally, his flatbed's chassis incorrectly labels it as Rocky's Tender.
  • The cancelled 2019 Rocky features printed details on painted wood.
  • Many promotional images of 2013 Rocky incorrectly place his front flatbed behind him.
