Battery-Operated James (first released as James Express Pack and later, Battery-Powered James) is a motorized variant of James that requires one AA Battery for operation.

Trivia[]

  • The James Express Pack vehicle oddly has red wheels and the same body as the Thomas Express Pack and Percy Express Pack.
  • One prototype Battery-Operated James in the 2002 yearbook features light gray wheels and a small number "5" on the tender.
    • Another prototype Battery-Operated James features black wheels.
  • Battery-Operated James is one of the first vehicles to have boiler stripes.
