1999 was the seventh year of the Thomas Wooden Railway line. This was the first year engines had molded plastic funnel and coal (Some tender engines had wooden funnels but plastic coal). Character Cards were also introduced in this year. Some items also had names on the bottom. Learning Curve did not have the license to sell Thomas Wooden Railway in the UK, so learning curve made a new series called great railway adventures wooden series. Numerous models from the wooden railway range were repainted with random colors. The models were also modified.

  • Thomas does not appear in the last two layout plans.
  • The Grain Loader appears in the 1999 pamphlet and the final layout plan in the 1999 yearbook, suggesting it was initially intended to be released this year instead of 2000.
